Our story

Why we started this

We are a husband and wife based in Southern California. Over the past year, we have come to love the practice of giving personalized Bibles to loved ones in our lives who could use one. Some of these are friends who just came to faith, relatives who are exploring Christianity for the first time, or coworkers who have never had a Bible of their own. We found such joy in this practice that we started to think how we could make it… bigger! We had a vision of believers young and old (especially new believers) receiving a personalized Bible at their doorstep, inviting them, tangibly and unmistakably, into a relationship with the living God. This vision became GiveAFreeBible.com.

Why the personalized name? Isaiah 43 says:

"But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”Isaiah 43:1

In the New Testament, John says:

"The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out."John 10:3

We want the recipient of every Bible to know they are known personally and intimately by a loving Father — and He is calling them by their name, to enter into relationship with Him.
